Penny Flame is now blogging for the Huffington Post. Doesn’t mention her porn name. Possibly appearing on Larry King next week.

Someone had up on their blog yesterday how Penny is now blogging for the Huffington Post. I went there now and the post is now gone. Now after reading a comment here on my blog from Harvey Dent about Penny writing for the Huffington Post, I started my search. I could not find a single mention of Penny Flame on the Huffington Post. I went to Penny’s blog BecomingJennie and there she also mentions she started writing for them. I clicked her link and I still couldn’t find a single mention of Penny Flame. So what’s the problem? Penny is now only using her birth name Jennifer Ketcham.

Penny got this new writing job after appearing on VH1’s “Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew”. The world knows her as Penny Flame. It’s fantastic she got this great opportunity which will open up more doors for her and set her up as a bonafide writer. But she’s going to face many problems if she thinks she can go through life in the public eye as Jennifer Ketcham instead of as Penny Flame.

Here is Penny’s profile at the Huffington Post where it refers to her only as a former porn star. Many people don’t read a person’s blog profile. So they might get upset thinking they were lied to and not told who this new writer is if they find out months from now:

Jennifer Ketcham is former pornstar who, upon shooting Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew and Sober House in spring and summer of 2009 respectively, quit the adult business to pursue a healthier lifestyle. She’s since appeared on Oprah, Tyra, and Larry King (12/11/09) to discuss sex addiction, and remains friends with Dr. Drew and other cast members from both shows. Ketcham is currently working on a memoir and writes daily on her blog http://www.BecomingJennie.com. She grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and now lives in Los Angeles with her pit bull Saucy and her cat Sensei.

Traci Lords tried using her birth name after her scandal broke. She was getting mainstream modelling work but was fired after they found out who she really was. One even threatened to sue her for fraud. So that’s when Traci decided to stay as Traci Lords and has now legally changed her name to Traci Lords. Jenna Jameson has also legally changed her name as well. With Penny now on reality shows and writing for a major publication, she will from this point on forever always be known as Penny Flame.

Penny told Oprah Winfrey last week that she has retired from the adult industry. But the week after she first announced she retired, she changed her story saying she would still be directing for Vivid. She’s still going to the conventions too. I know she needs the money and has to work wherever she can find it. But not fully telling everyone the truth about yourself and also using a name most don’t know you as, I fear Penny is setting herself up for a major emotional downfall by thinking she can still stay in the public eye but not be known as her stage name Penny Flame.

Penny has written her first blog post and you can read it at the HuffingtonPost. She went out interviewing strangers about trusting people for her first blog assignment. Penny doesn’t trust that many people and brought her friend with her on the assignment fearing she would be kidnapped. She says she’s been in porn long enough to know when someone is lying. She has serious trust issues and says her therapist, psychologist, and ex-boyfriends would say the same thing.

It doesn’t say if her blog will be daily, weekly, or monthly. What does something like this pay? Right now Penny is one of the more interesting porn stars out there. Should be interesting to see where this will all lead. Good luck! 😀
