But after reading this comment at LukeIsBack, the name Sara Sloane can be confused with Sara Stone’s name. It’s like Digital Playground thinking they’re being cute with changing the name of their newest contract girl Heather Starlet to Janie Summers which is one letter different from 80’s porn star Jamie Summers.
The name change could also be Zero Tolerance wanting to secure the domain names and start new with a name that hadn’t been taken yet. A few of the Sarah Vandella domains had already been taken. While two of Sara Sloane’s domain names were bought October 13. The .com was bought by someone in Portugal while the .net isn’t listed. But both were bought on October 13.
She’s been around for two years and was already making a name for herself in such hits as ‘Not the Cosbys XXX’ and ‘Not Monday Night Football XXX’. So she already has a fanbase but now has to change everything she has online and register new accounts on Myspace, Twitter, Facebook, and so on. If they made her change her name so to have a clean slate with her domain names, why not just buy the Club or xxx domains?

I got permission to use the name Ford. I asked Luke on cam to see his facial expression and he approved and was flattered. If Luke was still porn blogging, no way would I go as Darrah Ford. Was contemplating going as Darrah Michaels until I saw Luke’s post “I’m Looking For Some Bitches To Take My Last Name”. Names just sounded good together and I had a good feeling about it.

As far as the name controversy is concerned, yeah, ZT should have looked into it a bit deeper because this blogger might take exception to the use of what amounts to the same name. It might not be an issue, after all, she writes far better than that alt-porn Violet “I’ll sue anyone” Blue ever has so she doesn’t need to worry about possible comparisons in an ego driven manner (regarding performer’s). Maybe a certain someone will send the gal an email asking about it, someone with a chip on her shoulder wanting to “scoop” others in the industry with an easy win.
That said, Luke no more owned the name “Ford” than Gerald did when he was president, Henry did when he started up his motor company, nor Harrison when he began acting, so it wasn’t his to “give away” or “approve”. If someone was insecure enough to copycat the last name, or wanted to use it in lieu of taking the time to build up a following all their own, that’s up to them (it’s a common name and not like she started calling herself Jonna Stagliano, Paulina Hirsch, or Lara Flynt)…
