Fallout from Jenna Jameson’s AVN Awards speach.
When Jenna and her husband Jay sold ClubJenna to Playboy, part of the deal was that Jenna couldn’t announce her retiring because that would make all those never released movies now old. Now Playboy is trying to use this as a loophole to get out of their contract with ClubJenna.
And many of the performers are pissed at her announcement and I don’t blame them. It’s not because she said she was retiring but it’s how she said it. That she would never again spread her legs in the industry again. That makes it seem like there is something wrong with doing porn and her making it seem like she’s better than the other performers still doing porn. She was never highly regarded for her performing skills and mostly did lite porn. While better performers never got the fame and money that Jenna has. This was a real slap in the face for the performers and Jenna gave the religious zealots out there what they wanted. The audience even started booing Jenna. And Jenna has retired before but always came back.
And in Jenna’s speech she also says she’s proud that she paved the way for the mainstream exposure porn has. Really? So to hell with Marilyn Chambers, Traci Lords, Ginger Lynn Allen, and Ron Jeremy who came before her and kicked down the doors in Hollywood for silly little whores like her.
Olivia O’Lovely and Carmen Luvana both just recently announced their retirements but they did it graciously and not make fools out of themselves. You can see Jenna’s announcement at the AVN Awards here at Youtube. And Luke Is Back reports:
Jenna Jameson’s Saturday night retirement speech at the AVN Awards was hardly tactful, and left many porners and fans with a sour taste. I hear that Jenna had a specific clause in her contract with Playboy (the one that governed her sale of Club Jenna to Playboy) that forbids her from making such announcements.
Club Jenna has dozens of Jenna sex scenes in the can, poised to be released gradually over the next few years. Her speech turns them into “old footage,” when otherwise the audience would have been none the wiser.
Playboy has already served Showtime with an injunction preventing them from airing the AVN Awards with Jenna’s speech included. Playboy is in major damage control mode. I hear they are looking at this possibly as their loophole out of the terrible Club Jenna acquisition.
